Can AI help with estate planning?

Can Claude read all of my files?

Only the items you mark Standard, and only during a time-boxed session you start. Sealed items — the default for everything you create — use true zero-knowledge encryption. Claude cannot read them, and neither can Killswitch.

Can Claude fire, pause, or disable my deadman switch?

No. Claude can list your switches and propose a configuration, but it cannot check you in, trigger a switch, pause it, or delete it. Those actions require you, in the Killswitch app.

Sealed vs. Standard — You Choose What Claude Can See

Every note, document, and notebook has a storage mode. By default, only you can read your items — not Claude, not us.

Sealed (default)

True zero-knowledge encryption. The file's key is wrapped with your master key, which never leaves your device and is never escrowed — not even while a Claude connector session is active. Claude cannot read it. Neither can we.

Best for anything private you don't need Claude to read.

Standard (AI-assisted)

Encrypted at rest, server-side. When you unlock a connector session, your Standard Key is escrowed in memory only — time-boxed and solely for that session — so Claude can read and author these items. End the session and the key is dropped.

Best for files and notes you want Claude to help with.

Connecting Claude to Killswitch

Add the connector. In Claude Desktop or claude.ai, go to Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector and paste your Killswitch connector URL (found in Settings → Connector Sessions).
Approve the connection. Claude opens your browser to sign in and approve the specific scopes it's requesting (notes, documents, switches, or beneficiaries).
Unlock for Claude when you want AI help. Click "Unlock for Claude" in Settings to start a time-boxed session so Claude can read and author your Standard items. Sealed items stay private no matter what.
